Editorial policy
This editorial policy describes how the articles on IT/OT Convergence are written, checked and kept up to date. The aim is reliable, current and understandable explanation of industrial automation, OT security and regulation.
✍️ How is an article produced?
- Topic selection — topics are chosen based on questions from practice, new laws and regulations, standards and incidents.
- Research — facts are looked up in primary sources: standards bodies (IEC, ISA, ISO, NEN), regulators and governments (NCSC, RDI, CISA, ENISA, European Commission), legal texts and official documentation from manufacturers and standards organisations.
- Writing — articles are drafted with the help of AI writing tools, following a fixed structure: definition, explanation, tables, practice, frequently asked questions and summary.
- Fact-checking — every article goes through a separate review in which concrete claims (dates, standard numbers, legal articles, versions, figures) are checked again. Anything that cannot be verified is removed or worded cautiously.
- Final responsibility — as editor, Frank Woutersen is responsible for the content.
🔄 How are articles kept up to date?
| Situation | Approach |
|---|---|
| New legislation or standard | Existing articles are updated and new articles added |
| Report from a reader | The report is checked and processed where needed |
| Contradiction between articles | Both articles are brought into line |
| Fast-moving developments | Described with dates (“since”, “as of”) and reviewed periodically |
Each article shows the date of its last change.
⚖️ Independence and advertising
